The last thing you want to do when you’re out camping in nature during the hot summer months is spend hours in the tiny kitchen of your RV trying to prepare food. You may even prefer relying upon fast food or convenience items, rather than spending your vacation cooking. However, with a few modifications to how you’d cook at home, you can easily and quickly prepare delicious and nutritious meals in your RV.

Try a Slow Cooker

Using a slow cooker is a great way to prepare hot meals with little effort. You’ll just need to add meats, vegetables, and broth with some seasonings to the pot in the morning, then turn it on to the right setting and leave it. Chilis, soups, stews, and even pasta dishes or vegetables can be prepared in this manner.

Prepare Cold Meals

Plenty of healthy meals don’t require you to even turn on the stove! If you prepare additional cooked meats on the grill the night before and boil some extra noodles when making pasta, you can chop up pieces of chicken or fish to add them to a pasta salad. Or you could prepare a sandwich bar with lots of cheeses, lunch meats, chopped veggies, and condiments for everyone to prepare their own sandwich. Breakfast can be as simple as a yogurt and fruit smoothie, granola parfaits, or cereal with cut fruit on top.

Use a Grill

Packing a compact grill can make it easy to cook outside in the cool evening air, so you can fix cuts of meat like chicken breasts, hamburgers, hot dogs, fresh fish, or vegetables on your grill. Wrap items that might slip through the grates in aluminum foil so they can cook without burning.
